you must show it all

look up information and addresses
you don't know online
find the old bills old statements
have statements and bills sent to you
even from the collections people

do a credit report get the addresses and names
and amounts

Simple EASY

No, creditors do not have to remove anything, however they are obligated to respond and update your file. Normaly, 30 days is enough time, but it could take up to 60 days. Did you send your letters to creditors certified mail? If not, you should resend the same letter certified mail so that you have proof that it was in fact received. If you did send certified and you have the green card back for proof of signature, you can do one of two things. Send a second request letter to the creditor, here is an example:

Dear Sir / Madam:

Thirty days ago I sent you a letter disputing certain items on my credit report which were inaccurate or incomplete. Attached is the original letter.

Please note that under the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 30 days is considered as reasonable time for responding to my request for verification of the disputed items, unless additional time is requested by your firm in writing. In addition, failure to verify these items within the 30-day period, constitutes reason to drop them from my file, pursuant to sections 623(a)(1)(b) and 623(a)(3) of the FCRA.

Please respond immediately, also send me a copy of the updated information to the address shown below.

Send a copy of the original letter, and a copy of the signed green card showing the date the first letter was signed for, be sure and send it certified mail. Two, because you have already disputed with the credit bureau, chances are they will handle it for you, but it could take up to 60 days. Also, the bureau may continue to report information it has verified as accurate in your file. If you receive no response from the credit bureau, go online and search for "credit report dispute form", you should be able to download a free form that is good for all 3 bureau's, fill out the form, keep a copy for your records and mail it off to the appropriate credit bureau.
