Verizon Wireless To Launch First 4G Handsets In Mid-2011
Verizon Wireless (VZ, VOD) will launch its first 4G phone in mid-2011, which is about six months earlier than what the company has previously said, the Wall Street Journal reports. Initial phones will likely have two chipsets so they can also use the 3G network in places where 4G service isn’t available.
No word on which handset makers will be first to offer a 4G phone.
